MLK Day Franklin County

Martin Luther King Jr. Day is a national holiday established to honor the life and legacy of Dr. King, and to encourage all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities. In Franklin County, a variety of organizations host events in honor of the life Dr. King and his vision of creating a Beloved Community. FCCP provides coordinated marketing and promotions of these collective events to help increase awareness of the local events surrounding MLK Day.

FCCP also coordinates its own event in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. MLK Day of Service is observed as "a day on, not a day off" and is a nationwide effort to transform the federal holiday honoring Dr. King into a day of community service that help solve social problems. 

 

Locally, FCCP connects over 100 volunteers to service projects at local nonprofits on MLK Day. MLK Day of Service is a rewarding way for families, friends, neighbors and colleagues to make a lasting impact on their community in the spirit of Dr. King’s vision of the Beloved Community.
